Mafia III: Definitive Edition

The three story DLCs

Quick answer

The Definitive Edition bundles all three story DLCs at no extra cost: Faster, Baby! (Sinclair Parish, stunt driving, the Herbalism grow house), Stones Unturned (Donovan, mercenary Connor Aldridge, sniper support and bounty hunting) and Sign of the Times (the Ensanglante cult, investigations with a black light and Sammy's Bar renovations).

The Definitive Edition ships with all three story expansions already inside — no season pass juggling, no separate downloads beyond the install you own. Each is a self-contained run with its own map corner, its own villain and one fresh system. Here is what they actually add and the order that makes sense.

What is in the pack

Beyond the base game, the DE bundles:

  • Faster, Baby! (March 2017) — Sinclair Parish, stunt driving and the Herbalism grow house.
  • Stones Unturned (May 2017) — a Vietnam revenge story with John Donovan, sniper support and bounty hunting.
  • Sign of the Times (July 2017) — the Ensanglante cult, investigations and Sammy's Bar renovations.
  • Family Kick-Back Pack — three themed vehicles and weapons, once a pre-order bonus, now standard.
  • Judge, Jury & Executioner Weapons Pack — three gold-plated showpieces.
  • Plus the My2K link bonus (IL Duca handgun, Classico outfit) if you connect an account.

Faster, Baby! — the county run

Lincoln rides west into Sinclair Parish, where Sheriff Walter "Slim" Beaumont runs an all-white town through fear, and civil rights worker Ezekiel Dandridge has just been murdered for documenting it. With Roxy Laveau and Mitch "M.J." Decosta, the campaign is nine story missions of car chases, country raids and billboard vandalism — including "Campaign Strategy", which asks for ten of Slim's re-election boards to come down.

What it adds to the main game: a genuinely new map area built for stunt driving, and Herbalism — an optional storyline that starts a grow house operation. Upgrades cost about $105,000 all in, and the payoff is the fastest money in the game once the operation matures. The DLC also brings the sprint-car hardware: Samson Harrier, Lassiter Nightcrawler, Bulworth Harrow and friends.

Stones Unturned — the action movie

Donovan's blood feud comes home: Connor Aldridge — the man who left Donovan for dead in Vietnam — resurfaces in New Bordeaux hunting lost cargo, and Lincoln returns his friend's favour. The structure is six story missions ("Creature of Habit" through "There Are No Dominos") plus Bounty Hunting, a three-fugitive side chain run out of Robert Marshall's office.

New toys: Sniper Support markers — call down a shot on any marked target from anywhere, with its own 30-kill trophy — plus the Dormer B128 Dart Gun (non-lethal takedowns, 30 for a trophy) and the Korsky heavy weapons line. Donovan himself fights alongside you and can be revived mid-fight. It is the shortest of the three and the most combat-dense; if you play it between districts, bank your wallet first.

Sign of the Times — the investigation

The weird one, in the best way. A cult called the Ensanglante — drug-fuelled, blood-worshipping — is using places of trauma for ritual killings, and the story opens with Lincoln and Father James walking into a scene at Sammy's Bar. It is the darkest chapter in the game and the only one that stops to be a mystery: investigation zones let you examine bodies, sweep for black-light traces and photograph evidence with a recon camera, with intel view highlighting clues.

It also gives the endgame two big money sinks: Sammy's Renovation (about $186,000 to fully restore the bar, with the fun of watching it come back to life) and the investigation set pieces around the Harless family. New gear runs to Throwing Knives (20-kill trophy), a fresh shotgun chassis and investigation tools that share the equipment wheel.

When to play each

The safe order is release order — Faster, Baby! first (it is the new-player-friendliest and cheapest to get into), Stones Unturned second (it feeds you combat power for anything you still owe the city), Sign of the Times last (it lands hardest after the main story themes have done their work, and its renovation is pure endgame content). Doing them mid-campaign works too: each opens its own story bookmark, and none of them spoil the main plot beyond the point where they unlock.

Side content worth knowing

Each DLC carries collectible-adjacent extras: the Herbalism batches in Faster, Baby! (sell one batch for $10,000+ for That Good Connect), the three Places of Darkness investigations in Sign of the Times (Haunted Places), and the full bounty ledger in Stones Unturned (Skip Trace). Those five achievements represent some of the easiest points left if the campaign list already looks thin — see the achievements page for the rest of the tail.
